Paul began his art career as a self-taught woodcarver in 1991. He enrolled in formal training at Bowling Green State University in 1998 while working on a master’s degree in accounting. Since completing a sculpture program, Paul carves during the tourist season at Cedar Point’s Frontier Trail. For his lighthouse design, he was inspired by the starry skies to which sailors have turned throughout history to navigate their vessels.
